Welcome!

David McInerney is on staff at Gramercy Psychological Services. He is available to see individuals, couples, and families for therapy in New York City.

If you are considering psychotherapy and live in the Greater New York area, please take some time to browse this site to find out more about David and his psychotherapy practice.

On the About page, you will learn about David's work experience and training as a counselor and psychotherapist, as well as his philosophy and general approach to counseling. He has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to individuals with severe childhood trauma, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and a whole host of psychosocial stressors, including HIV, challenges related to sexual orientation and gender identity, and homelessness. David's academic achievements are also available on the About page.

To help convey his approach to psychotherapy, David offers a few articles for your perusal. These articles are divided into topics related to individual, couple, and family therapy. New articles will appear from time to time, so please check back for updates!

Psychological and emotional healing do not happen alone nor with a single approach. The Resources page lists a select group of books, websites, and organizations that have influenced David's philosophy and practice.

The Inspiration page has quotations and poems that seek to refresh the soul and inspire the mind. Please enjoy them!

If you or someone you know is interested in individual psychotherapy or couple or family counseling, please contact David for more information.

David is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
